Review: NOTE: This review is for the 13" and 14" Twenty Hi-Hats "Standouts in the Twenty test group included the 13" and 14" hi-hats, which had a nice crispness without sounding brittle, and a very satisfying hissy "bark" when opened and closed quickly."
Review written by Rick Van Horn (Modern Drummer, August 2007, pg. 34)
Review: In comparison to the rest of the cymbals I had bought, the hi-hats were surprisingly bright, especially when closed. When opened, a darker wash emerged, closer to what might be expected from more traditional, jazzier orientated cymbals. However, whereas similar sounding cymbals might loose presence amongst any louder genres, there is a fullness of sound and body to these hi-hats that works. That's not to say that they cut like a pair of heavy 15" hi-hats might. They are by no means intrusive; nor are they suitable for punks or metal players, yet they do not become lost in the way other dark cymbals often do as volume increases.
