Paiste Visions
Visions cymbals are made using both
our "Paiste Sound Alloy" and CuSn8 bronze in order to achieve the best
possible sound realization for each model.
Visions feature our unique "Colorsound" black
coating, a patented process which both creates a stunning visual appeal
and produces a very dry, defined sound, yet still allows the cymbal's
frequencies to resonate freely.
Designed for medium to high volume settings in both
studio and live environments requiring precision and separation,
Visions will please creatively expressive, extravagant and eccentric
musicians with their unique sound and experimental potential.
Some of the specific applications for Visions
include dry sounds for studio work, short decay sounds for fast and
explosive rhythmic patterns, and stage work where strong visual appeal
and prevention of microphone bleed are desired.

Cymbal-stacking is a perfect application for Visions cymbals. Due to
their special black coating, Visions cymbals best achieve the
white-noise harmonics that were characteristic of early electronic drum
sounds. Aside from their ability to create radical sound colors,
Visions cymbal stacks offer creative visual appeal to your
presentation.

Effects
- Splash (8", 10", 12")
- Visions
splashes are crisp and cutting, with a very short decay. Excellent for
short accents and for adding color at the high end.
- Cup Chime (5", 61/2" , 71/2", 8")
- Small cymbals with large bell and a narrow rim. A lively, exotic bell-like sound that adds new dimensions to any set-up.
- Thin China (16", 18")
- A
short, dark and trashy sound, great for quick accents and quarter note
ride/crash patterns. Great for stacking on another cymbal for a "white
noise" effect.
- China (14", 16", 18", 20")
- Exotic,
powerful and full sound with short sustain. Good projection and wide
sound variety from edge to bell area. Trashy, but controllable.
- Novo China (20")
- Same
characteristics as the classic 2002 Novo, but dryer. A round, playable
bell with an exotic sound. Trashy, brash and projecting.
Hi-Hats
- Mini Hi-Hat (8")
- Great
as an effect hi-hat and or auxiliary hi-hat; can be a tight, sharp
sound, or a loose, splashy sound, depending on mounting.
- Full Hi-Hat (13")
- Medium
in weight and versatile. A very dry stick sound when closed but when
slightly open, it becomes very alive. Suited for many styles.
- Heavy Hi-Hat (14")
- A
strong and powerful overall sound with both warmth and sharpness. A
tight stick sound and good washy quality when played half open.
Crashes
- Thin Crash (14", 15", 16", 18")
- Due
to the color coat, this crash opens and decays quickly. It's warm and
dry, yet crisp; useful in many applications where control is needed.
- Crash (14", 16", 18", 20")
- Somewhat dry, the crash provides a fuller sound range with good projection. In the bigger sizes, very nice for ride/crash use.
- Power Crash (16", 18")
- Higher
in pitch and more projection, the Power Crash is a cymbal for loud
situations where volume is needed but without a long sustain.
Rides
- Full Ride (20")
- A controllable, rich sounding all-round ride. Very nice for miking and recording, with good stick control and a clean bell.
- Power Ride (22")
- Powerful,
cutting bell sound and even more stick definition than other Power
Rides. A great ride for players needing cutting power and dryness.
