Paiste Rude Classic
In response to extreme developments such as punk and heavy metal in the late 1970's to early 1980's, Paiste developed the RUDE
series. These cymbals are unlathed, therefore uniform in thickness, and
feature heavy mid-range harmonics at high volume levels. Rude Classics
feature the same range of models as in the early 1980's. Their raw,
lively character makes them an obvious choice for contemporary bands
with minimal instrumentation, as their sound tends to fill the overall
musical soundscape.

Effects
- Splash (10")
- Quite
thick, giving the effect of a "Mini-Crash". Full, high, short,
pronounced sound. Very good for loud situations and interesting for
percussionists.
- China (18")
- Truly
"rude" sounding China cymbal. Raw sound, short decay with great
projection. The perfect china for extreme volume situations.
Hi-Hats
- Hi-Hat (14")
- Raw,
dry and funky with pronounced stick and trashy open-closed sound. Cuts
well in loud situations while having a versatile use, depending on the
player's touch.
- Sound Edge Hi-Hat (14")
- Raw,
funky characteristics with a brighter, less dry sound due to the
rippled bottom. A perfect Sound Edge hi-hat for heavy players.
Crashes
- Crash/Ride (16", 18")
- Raw and funky with excellent cutting power. 18"e; can be heavy enough for riding.
Rides
- Ride/Crash (20")
- "Ride"
is the primary function, but these are also incredibly strong crashes.
High pitched, raw and metallic, great for creating a "wash" of sound
for louder music passages.
- Power Ride (20")
- The
definitive Power Ride has more "metal" in the ping and less wash than
the Ride/Crash. An absolutely piercing bell, this cymbal will cut
through anything.
